Certified Cicerone®
Certified Cicerone® is the second level of certification in the Cicerone® Certification Program, but the first level that entitles the holder to call themselves a Cicerone. Individuals at this level possess a professional body of knowledge and essential tasting skills related to beer. Those who have achieved this level of certification work as buyers and managers at retail, in sales, management, and technical roles for brewers and distributors. Candidates demonstrate their knowledge and skills during a half-day assessment that includes a three-hour written exam, a 12-sample taste panel, and an oral exam that assesses hands-on capability in the area of beer service.
